The opportunity

Are you dedicated to providing high standards of patient and client care, and motivated to run your own nurse clinics? If so, we would love to hear from you. We require a Full Time Qualified Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our friendly, professional team in our 24 hour Hendon Hospital.

Medivet Hendon 24-Hour is a bustling hospital, it has recently been recognised as one of London’s best Veterinary practices. The successful candidate will be joining a highly experienced team led by Branch Partners and Vets Jeremy and Sarah, who combined have 25 years experience, as well as the Head Registered Veterinary Nurse with 15 years experience. Including certificate holders or those currently undertaking a certificate, as well as a fantastic nursing and support team. The hospital also possess a dedicated reception and night team.

It houses an MRI/CT unit and so treats many interesting neurology, medicine, surgical and other cases. Additionally, Hendon 24hr is equipped with endoscopy, arthroscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitors, in-house bloods and much more! The group is also supported by its own pet blood bank, laboratory as well as other services. Hendon also has a spacious garden, two dedicated staff rooms, a close link to the station as well as a friendly and social team who enjoy their team nights out.

It supports Medivet clinics in all of Northwest London but also the whole of Southern England, with interesting and complicated cases.

The rota is a 4 day week with weekends on a 1 in 6 basis.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
