The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our practice in Little Hampton. The practice has a fully supportive team that enjoy lots of laughs and are dedicated to their clients and patients.
 
You must be an experienced vet with a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills, work to a very high standard both medically and surgically and have the drive and ambition to help develop this practice further.
 
 
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years' UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience. Strong management and mentor skills are essential as you will play a crucial part within the team.
 
 
The position involves working as part of a 4 vet, 5 RVN team at our main Littlehampton Clinic. Consultations are on average 15 minutes and vets are encouraged to follow their cases.
 
Surgical caseload is shared equally.
 
Case discussions are encouraged and welcomed.
 
We do not cover OOH but we do work our cases up to a high level and hospitalise our inpatients 24/7.

Key Accountabilities

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture. You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

Skills and Experience

Modern equipment includes digital x-ray, endoscopes, rhinoscope, ultrasound, ECG, Slit Lamp, suction, pulse ox and recently upgraded lab equipment. Just 15 minutes south of the stunning South Downs, this attractive seaside town is the perfect location for wind and kite-surfing, water-sports, walking, cycling, mountain-biking and exploring, and is in easy reach of Brighton, Chichester and London.
