Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse who thrives in a supportive team environment and takes pride in delivering excellent patient and client care? Medivet Thorpe Bay, Shoebury Road, is looking for an RVN to join our friendly and dedicated team on a permanent basis, helping us continue to provide outstanding veterinary services to our loyal and growing client base.

Situated in the coastal town of Thorpe Bay in Southend-on-Sea, our practice is an established part of the local community and enjoys the loyalty of long-standing clients. The area is well known for its beautiful seafront, outdoor spaces, and relaxed coastal lifestyle, while still offering strong transport links into London, making it an ideal location for those seeking balance between career and lifestyle.

Our caseload is varied, providing opportunities to use your nursing skills to their full potential across inpatient care, theatre work, consultations, and client education. You’ll be encouraged to take an active role in shaping clinical standards, while working alongside a collaborative team that values each individual’s contribution.

This is a permanent full-time role averaging around 40 hours per week, with flexibility built in to suit the right candidate, and participation in a shared weekend rota. Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.

  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.

  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.

  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.

  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.

  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.

  • Dispense and check medication.

  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.

  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.

  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.

  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.

  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.

  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
