It’s a time to shine a light on the incredible individuals who manage the front desk with compassion, efficiency, and a genuine love for animals. It’s worth noting that Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Day is celebrated in October, separate to Veterinary Receptionist Week.

Our Veterinary Receptionists
Our Veterinary Receptionists are masters of multitasking.
In a single hour, they might process repeat prescriptions, handle complex client queries, and provide a calm presence during an emergency arrival. They understand the nuances of a veterinary environment and play a crucial role in the smooth flow of the clinic, ensuring that our clinical teams can focus on what they do best: treating patients.

Our Client Care Assistants (CCAs)
At Medivet, we also champion the role of the Client Care Assistant.
Client Care Assistants (CCAs) are the first point of contact for client phone calls and are responsible for delivering exceptional care. These team members are always there for clients, patients, and colleagues, and their work definitely doesn’t go unnoticed! They are experts in empathy, focusing on delivering a seamless and supportive experience for every visitor.
By taking ownership of the waiting area and being a proactive point of contact, they ensure that every client feels heard, valued, and "always there" for their pets.

What makes a great reception team member?
Working at the front desk of a Medivet practice requires a unique blend of transferable skills. We look for individuals who bring a mix of:
- Soft Skills: Empathy and emotional intelligence are paramount. You’ll need the ability to remain calm under pressure, the warmth to support owners, and the communication skills to welcome new patients. As an added bonus, you’ll get to meet new puppies and kittens
- Hard Skills: Great numeracy for handling payments and cashing up, proficiency in online booking systems (like our bespoke Medivet platforms), and a sharp eye for administrative detail.
