Medivet Bamber Bridge is looking for a confident and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon to join our experienced and friendly six-vet team in a dynamic role that offers real scope to make an impact. This is a full-time opportunity ideal for someone with at least 3 years of UK small animal practice experience who enjoys a true mix of consulting and surgery, and who’s ready to help shape the next chapter of a busy, community-loved clinic.

Our Bamber Bridge practice – known locally as Withy Grove Vets – is an award-winning site in a vibrant suburban location, with excellent links to Manchester, Liverpool, the Lake District, and stunning local countryside. It’s a great base for vets looking for variety in both work and life.

You’ll be joining a welcoming team that includes a three-times surgery certificate holder to work alongside and mould the next generation of vets, supported by a brilliant nursing and client care team, plus a dedicated Practice Manager. We also work closely with the nearby Medivet 24-hour hospital and surrounding branches, offering strong clinical collaboration with patients transferring internally for more complex cases.

The clinic is well-equipped, offering a wide range of surgical and diagnostic services including laparoscopy, endoscopy, TTA kit, patella luxation equipment, quality ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, capnography and ventilators. While the building itself is more traditional and rustic, this creates an exciting opportunity: we’re looking for someone who sees the potential, who wants to be part of shaping and improving the practice environment - someone who wants to leave their mark and help lead the practice into a new era.

We’re proud to offer a personal, compassionate service to a loyal client base, and we're passionate about mentoring and developing our team. This role would be particularly rewarding for someone who enjoys guiding newer graduates and supporting developing vets in a friendly, refreshing and collaborative setting.
We offer a 4-day week with no OOH, and a fair share of weekend cover (1:3 Saturdays or 1:6 full weekends). We're happy to discuss flexible working arrangements to support a strong work-life balance for the right candidate.

If you’re looking for a hands-on role with real autonomy, a chance to grow and mentor others, and an opportunity to be part of something transformative, we’d love to hear from you.
