Worthing, West Sussex

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated and longstanding team at Medivet Worthing on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Located at the foot of the South Downs, with access to a beautiful landscape in every direction. Worthing is a charming seaside town rich in history and culture, from its ancient roots as a Stone Age settlement to its Georgian seaside heritage and literary connections with Oscar Wilde and Jane Austen. Today, it offers a wonderful mix of beachfront living, vibrant local amenities, easy access to beautiful countryside, and cultural venues making it an ideal place to live and work.

At Medivet Worthing, you’ll be joining a strong, supportive team of four vets (including a skilled surgeon), a new graduate vet, six experienced nurses, and two student nurses, all supported by a friendly and capable front-of-house team. This is a close-knit, collaborative environment where teamwork and patient care come first, and where there’s genuine opportunity to develop your surgical and clinical skills from the qualified, certificate holding lead vet as well as the long standing team.

The practice itself features two consult rooms, a dedicated theatre, dental diagnostics, x-ray, a spacious upstairs kitchen and staff room, and a garden area perfect for soaking up the sunshine on breaks. While there is no on-site parking, there is free street parking nearby. Worthing also supports our neighbouring branch in Goring-by-Sea, offering a varied and interesting caseload across the two sites.

We’re seeking a confident, capable GP Vet who is comfortable working sole charge and managing a wide range of cases independently. You’ll have the autonomy to make clinical decisions while being supported by a well-established nursing and client care team.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with no out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments, amazing for exploring the nearby areas and just 1 in 4 Saturday mornings at the Worthing practice, offering excellent work-life balance alongside the satisfaction of varied and fulfilling clinical work.

If you’re looking for a role where you can refine your surgical skills, enjoy supportive teamwork, and experience the best of coastal living, we’d love to hear from you.

For a friendly, informal conversation about the role, please contact Joanne at joanne.gray@medivet.co.uk
