Medivet Bamber Bridge is looking for a dedicated and personable Veterinary Surgeon with strong general practice skills to join our fantastic six-vet team in a modern, progressive, and well-equipped practice.
This is a full-time opportunity with a flexible, four-day working week and a fair share of weekends, ideal for someone with a minimum of 2–3 years’ UK practice experience who enjoys a true mix of consulting and surgery.
Our Bamber Bridge practice – also known locally as Withy Grove Vets – is an award-winning, community-focused clinic set in a suburban location with excellent links to Manchester, Liverpool and the Lake District. It’s the perfect setting for those who want access to vibrant city life, scenic countryside, and everything in between.
You’ll be joining a skilled, supportive and sociable team of six vets, including a three-times certificate holder in surgery, backed by a brilliant nursing team, an experienced support team and a Practice Manager who helps everything run smoothly. We work closely with the nearby Medivet 24-hour hospital and surrounding branches, which allows for strong regional collaboration and support, plus the opportunity to refer internally for more complex cases.
Our clinic is fully equipped to offer a wide range of diagnostic and surgical procedures. Facilities include laparoscopy, endoscopy, TTA kit, patella luxation equipment, good quality ultrasound, digital radiography and dental X-ray, capnography, a ventilator and dedicated theatres. With separate dog and cat wards, a dental suite and a rabbit-friendly environment, we’re proud to deliver a high standard of care to all patients.
We place huge value on building long-term relationships with our clients, offering them and their pets a trusted, personal service rooted in clinical excellence and compassion. We foster a culture of collaboration, kindness and professional growth, and we’re passionate about creating a work environment where every team member feels seen, supported and encouraged.
We’re equally committed to achieving a great work-life balance, and we’re open to discussing flexible working options that suit your lifestyle. Whether you're looking to take the next step in your clinical journey or seeking a more balanced and supportive practice culture, we’d love to hear from you.
The role is full-time, working 40 hours over 4 days with weekends on a fair rota (1:3 Saturdays or 1:6 full weekends). You’ll enjoy a role where your contribution matters, your development is nurtured, and your career can truly thrive.
