An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and confident Veterinary Surgeon to join our long-standing, collaborative team at Medivet Richmond 24-Hour Hospital , a busy, well-equipped hospital environment that thrives on challenge, teamwork, and delivering exceptional patient care.
If you’re seeking a role where no two days are the same, with high caseloads, fast-paced ECC work, and exposure to a broad range of cases, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
This is a full-time position, covering 40 hours per week with 1 in 6 weekends in a dynamic clinical setting. We’re looking for a dedicated team player with at least 2 years of UK experience (or equivalent), who is comfortable managing a variety of cases independently. This role is best suited to a vet who enjoys thinking on their feet, thrives under pressure, and can confidently handle emergency and critical care cases alongside general practice duties. A keen interest in medicine and ultrasonography would be particularly welcome, though not essential.
As a busy 24-hour hospital, we see everything from routine consultations, surgeries, and dental treatments to complex medical workups, challenging surgical cases, and emergencies at all hours. Our in-house capabilities include a full lab, x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and CT scanner, enabling swift and efficient diagnosis using modern equipment.
Our vets have the opportunity to perform and assist with advanced surgeries, including laparoscopic procedures, soft tissue surgeries (thyroidectomy, anal gland removal, BOAS and entropion) and orthopaedics (TPLO, fracture repairs, patella luxation and FHNE).
You’ll be joining an experienced, supportive team at an exciting time of restructure across the region. Many of our team have been with us for over a decade, and our current roster includes 7 day vets, 3 night vets, 6 day RVNs, 2 night RVNs, 4 SVNs, 3 PCAs, and 5 CCAs. We are also proud to be a nurse training practice and a graduate vet residency provider, supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals.
We are an RCVS-accredited Small Animal Hospital with Emergency and Critical Care accreditation, ensuring our standards of care and facilities are second to none.
