We're looking for a compassionate, motivated Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to join our friendly practice and play an essential role in supporting our clinical team and creating the best possible experience for our clients and their pets.

What does a Veterinary Care Assistant do?
As a VCA, you'll be at the heart of the practice, supporting our vets and nurses in delivering outstanding patient care while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting patient care throughout the day
Assisting with animal handling and restraint
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
Preparing consulting rooms and clinical areas
Managing stock and equipment
Supporting reception and client care when required
Providing a warm, welcoming experience for clients and their pets
Working closely with the wider clinical team to ensure every patient receives the best possible care

Previous experience in a veterinary environment is beneficial but not essential. Attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn are just as important.
As part of Medivet’s hub‑and‑spoke model, you’ll also spend an 8‑hour shift in our 24‑hour hospital in Wokingham every fourth weekend, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays. You will also participate in the on-call rota for our Wokingham 24-hour Hospital.

You’re skilled at providing exceptional client care and are passionate about caring for pets. You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.
We welcome applications from candidates able to prioritise, remain calm under pressure and who are flexible and willing to learn.
This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.
