As a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) you will support the nurse and vets with in-patient procedures and pet care delivering exceptional care always there to our clients, patients, and colleagues. The practice is located in a clean, family‑friendly neighbourhood known for its walkability and popularity among pet lovers thanks to its dog‑friendly parks and local green spaces. Our two‑consult‑room practice is well equipped with a dedicated theatre, digital x‑ray, and dental facilities, providing everything needed to deliver excellent patient care. The team is led by a branch partner and supported by two experienced nurses and a dedicated client‑care team, creating a close‑knit and collaborative working environment where every team member plays a valued role. This is a permanent full‑time Veterinary Care Assistant position working 40 hours per week, with participation in a 1 in 6 full weekend rota at Medivet Faygate 24hr or 1 in 3 Saturdays at a nearby clinic within the local network, along with 1–2 bank holidays per year.

This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.

What you’ll be doing

Typically, in this role, you’ll:

  • Deliver exceptional care to clients, supporting surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care to pets, including walking, toileting and feeding
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team
