As a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) at Medivet Chelmsford, you’ll play a key role in supporting our experienced vets and nurses to deliver exceptional care to every patient, every day. Based in our well-established Chelmsford practice, you’ll work alongside a friendly and compassionate team led by Partner and Veterinary Surgeon Bogdan Potirnac, helping to provide high-quality care in a supportive and collaborative environment. From assisting with in-patient care and procedures to ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable and loved during their visit, no two days are the same. Our Chelmsford team is passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere for both clients and colleagues, and we’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to outstanding patient care and animal welfare. You’re skilled at providing exceptional client care and are passionate about caring for pets.  You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.

We welcome applications from candidates able to prioritise, remain calm under pressure and who are flexible and willing to learn.

This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.

What you’ll be doing

Typically, in this role, you’ll:

  • Deliver exceptional care to clients, supporting surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care to pets, including walking, toileting and feeding
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team
