Lead Vet

£75,000 per annum
  1. Full-time
  2. Veterinary Surgeon
  3. Poole

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon, confident in sole charge, with ideally a minimum of 3 years UK experience to join our friendly and well-established team at Medivet Parkstone – a well-equipped, first opinion practice just five minutes from our 24-hour hospital in Poole.

Whether you’re already an experienced lead vet or looking to take the next step in your leadership journey, this role offers the perfect balance of autonomy within your own practice, backed by support and collaboration from a wider regional network and nearby referral hospital.

You’ll be working alongside a long-standing team of experienced vets, nurses and support staff, with access to in-house bloods, digital x-ray, ultrasound and dental facilities, and a loyal and growing client base that values continuity and exceptional care. Parkstone is also a key practice within the local area, forming part of a regional cluster managed by a Practice Manager, with close links to three other clinics and a strong clinical team including certificate holders.

As Lead Vet, you’ll take clinical ownership of the site, helping to shape its ongoing development and culture while mentoring junior colleagues and building trusted client relationships. You’ll have the freedom to run your own caseload and influence the way the clinic works day-to-day, with the reassurance of nearby support from Medivet Poole 24-Hour.

This role is full time, based on a four-day week, with a 1 in 6 weekend rota at the Poole hospital. Relocation support is available for those moving over 60 miles.

Situated on the South Coast, Parkstone offers a lifestyle that’s hard to beat – just minutes from the renowned, golden beaches of Sandbanks and the dramatic Jurassic Coastline, with easy access to the New Forest and surrounding countryside for walking, hiking and exploring.

Whether you’re looking to further your leadership skills or ready to take on a rewarding new challenge in one of the UK’s most desirable locations, this is a role that combines career progression, clinical independence, and quality of life.
