Medivet is on an exciting journey to grow and elevate our in-house laboratory services and as our Business Development & Key Account Manager you will play a pivotal role, leading the expansion of our diagnostic services by building trusted relationships with veterinary teams and showcasing the value of our in-house laboratory offering.

This role blends account management with new business development. You’ll initially focus on supporting Medivet practices transitioning from external laboratories, before expanding your reach to engage new customers across the wider veterinary market.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the onboarding and conversion of practices moving to Medivet Labs, ensuring a smooth and positive transition.

  • Act as the primary commercial contact for key accounts, nurturing long-term relationships and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

  • Proactively promote Medivet’s laboratory services, identifying opportunities to increase test volumes, service uptake and customer value.

  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities beyond the Medivet network.

  • Build strong knowledge of our diagnostic portfolio to confidently engage and advise veterinary professionals.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams — including laboratory operations, customer services and couriers — to ensure service excellence.

  • Gather and act on customer feedback to support continuous improvement and retention.

  • Track activity and monitor performance to support forecasting and growth planning.

  • Represent Medivet Labs at customer sites, meetings, events and exhibitions.

  • Resolve customer queries and issues promptly, maintaining confidence and trust in the service.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong relationship-building and customer management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and present credibly.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.

  • Analytical capability, including generating reports and identifying trends.

  • Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused approach.

  • It would be helpful if you also have:

  • Experience in account management, sales or business development.

  • A background in professional services, healthcare or veterinary environments.

  • Understanding of diagnostic or laboratory services (full training provided).
