We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused IT Field Service Engineer to join Medivet on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Frequent travel across the South East and Greater London regions is required. Some out-of-hours work may occasionally be necessary to support business-critical activity.
Reporting into our IT team, you'll provide advanced onsite hardware and software support, acting as an escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by the Service Desk. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, ensuring our practices have reliable, effective technology that enables them to deliver exceptional care to patients and clients.
This is a varied, hands-on role that combines technical support, problem-solving, project delivery, and stakeholder management. No two days are the same, and we're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on challenges, and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
What You'll Do:
Provide advanced onsite IT support for colleagues across our practice network and support functions.
Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues raised through the IT Service Desk.
Manage incidents through to resolution, including liaising with third-party suppliers and support partners.
Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken within our Freshworks service management platform.
Deliver IT support in line with business requirements and operational trading hours.
Support multiple IT projects simultaneously, taking the lead on smaller projects where required.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure services are delivered to a high standard.
Identify opportunities to improve colleague experience, operational efficiency, and IT service delivery.
Provide proactive maintenance and support across a large and diverse IT estate.
Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding incidents, service improvements, project updates, and system changes.
Support equipment installations, relocations, decommissions, and practice technology deployments.
What you’ll bring:
We're looking for a motivated and adaptable IT professional who enjoys working independently and solving problems in a customer-facing environment.
You will have:
Experience supporting Windows 11 environments.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and services.
Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
Experience supporting desktop and laptop hardware, ideally Dell, HP, or Lenovo devices.
Knowledge of managed print solutions.
Strong networking and cabling experience, including Cat5, Cat6 and Cat6a infrastructure.
Experience diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to work remotely, independently, and manage competing priorities effectively.
A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a "can-do" approach to support.
It would be advantageous if you have experience with:
Data cabinet setup and organisation.
Cisco networking equipment, including basic configuration and deployment.
Clinical or healthcare environments.
Practice Management Systems (PMS).
X-ray, ultrasound, laboratory, imaging, or other specialist medical equipment.
Supporting large, distributed multi-site estates.
