Bisley, Woking, Surrey

Join Medivet Bisley as our new Head Veterinary Nurse

At Medivet Bisley, we’re proud to be a genuinely community-focused practice where pets and their people are treated like family. We’re looking for an experienced RVN to join our close-knit team as Head Veterinary Nurse—someone who leads with compassion, brings energy to the team, and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient and client care.

Bisley is a friendly, welcoming practice with a strong local reputation and a team that genuinely supports one another. As Head Nurse, you’ll play a key role in shaping the day-to-day running of the practice, supporting our nursing team, and helping us continue to deliver the high standards of care our clients know and trust.

As part of Medivet’s hub-and-spoke model, you’ll have the best of both worlds: the close-knit feel of a community practice alongside the clinical resources and expertise of our nearby 24-hour hospital in Wokingham.

When patients need more advanced care, you’ll have access to experienced hospital teams, advanced diagnostics, modern equipment and a wider clinical network—giving you the support and resources to do the very best for your patients.

You’ll also spend an 8-hour shift at our Wokingham 24-hour hospital every fourth weekend, alternating between Saturdays and Sundays, as well as participating in the hospital’s on-call rota.

This is a great opportunity to broaden your clinical experience, work alongside experienced hospital colleagues and get involved with more complex and varied cases, while bringing that knowledge and experience back to your Bisley team.

This is more than a traditional Head Nurse role. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, support and inspire your colleagues, and play a meaningful part in the continued development of the practice.

We’re looking for an experienced RVN who:

  • Is confident leading and supporting a nursing team
  • Takes pride in delivering exceptional patient and client care
  • Enjoys developing colleagues and creating a positive team culture
  • Is organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Wants to continue developing both clinically and as a leader

If you’re an experienced RVN who leads from the front, cares deeply about people and patients, and wants to be part of a supportive practice with access to outstanding clinical resources, we’d love to hear from you.

A £1,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position.

Come and be part of the Medivet Bisley team.

Your career means more than a rota and a job title, that’s why we offer:

Health and wellbeing

  • Health Cash Plan from day one
  • 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support
  • Life Assurance 3 x salary

Annual leave

  • 5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, rising with length of service
