  3. Dorchester

We have an exciting opportunity for a Rotating Area Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and experienced team supporting Medivet Dorchester 24 Hour and surrounding practices including Weymouth, Portland, Beaminster, and others in the local area, providing the stability of a permanent position with the variety and scope of working across multiple practices. You’ll enjoy a pre-planned rota and a structured, consistent working pattern that enables continuity of care and the opportunity to build strong client relationships across a diverse caseload.

The hours for this role are full-time – 40 hours across four 10-hour days, with 1 in 6 weekends at the Dorchester hospital. Part-time opportunities also available for the right candidate if essential. This provides the ideal balance between exposure to a varied caseload and the routine and consistency needed to support your work-life balance and ongoing professional development.

You’ll be travelling between sites, so a full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential (mileage is reimbursed). You’ll be joining a knowledgeable and enthusiastic clinical community, with access to experienced veterinary surgeons (including certificate holders in imaging, medicine, surgery, dermatology and ECC), as well as supportive nursing teams and excellent practice management, offering a progressive and collaborative working environment.

This role is ideal for a veterinary surgeon looking for the stability of a permanent role with the variety, challenge and autonomy of working across multiple sites. You’ll enjoy structured rotas, continuity of care, and the opportunity to develop clinical rapport with colleagues and clients alike.

You should be confident with routine surgeries, comfortable working both independently and in a team, and enthusiastic about furthering your skills within a supportive, forward-thinking hospital network.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to thrive within a dynamic, multi-site role in a beautiful part of the country near the stunning Jurassic Coast.
