Registered Veterinary Nurse £30,630 pro rata Calne, Wiltshire Medivet Calne Part Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team in Calne and Lyneham.

You will be working across the two clinics as part of the nursing team on a regular rota, you should be confident to work in a branch as the sole RVN. You will be using your medical and surgical nursing skills along with nurse consulting.

Our Lyneham branch is purpose built, we are starting to increase client numbers, so lots of opportunity to bond with our clients and patients. The clinic has lots of space and nice new equipment.

Calne clinic is in a lovely grade 2 listed building with lots of character and good facilities, including dental x-ray.

Both clinics have nurse consulting rooms, receptionists, practice manager and parking! The clinics are near local shops and good schools. It is a good mix of rural and town life. OOHs are covered by a local hospital.

Hours – Tuesday at Calne 9-7pm, Wednesday and Friday at Lyneham 8.45-5pm and 1:4 Saturday mornings at Calne.

Salary would be £19,526.62 per annum.

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
