Veterinary Nurse £30,000 per year Loughborough, Leicestershire Medivet Loughborough Full Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

Medivet Loughborough is situated in a beautiful spacious building and offers a friendly and supportive environment led by Branch Partner Rachael. You will be supported in your role by our Head RVN Kayleigh who has been with practice 17 years and has in-depth knowledge. We have a wide and varied caseload with the capacity to perform advanced soft-tissue surgeries.  

The practice is located 5 minutes away from Loughborough Town Centre and scenic Queens Park, home to a beautiful aviary, can be found 2-minutes away, perfect for a lunch time stroll. We are just off the A6 on Forest Road and easily assessible to both the M1 and East Midlands Airport and offer free parking onsite.  

You’ll be covering 40 hours per week and part of a weekend rota covering 1:6 weekends, bank holidays are shared with nurses in the region and on-call rota at Medivet 24 hour Birstall, Leicestershire soon to change to Medivet Thurmaston.

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care
  • Dispense and check medication
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice

Your Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague
