Client Care Assistant – Veterinary

Everyone here is focused on our patients and clients, and you will be too as you answer calls and queries, make appointments and take payments, and ensure the practice is safe and well-stocked.
We are currently seeking a warm and welcoming receptionist to fill an average of 28 hour per week vacancy working in our 24 hour hospital in Ramsbottom. The successful candidate will assist a team of supportive Veterinary Surgeons, Nurses and Patient Care Assistants. The role is 25 hours Monday to Friday with 1:3 half weekends or 1:6 full Saturday and Sunday weekends plus 1-2 bank holiday days per year.
Receptionist or customer facing experience is essential for this role as is a love of animals, although no prior animal care experience is required. This position will best suit a proactive enthusiastic individual with a passion for customer service and exemplary communication skills. You should be able to multitask, remain calm under pressure and prioritise your work load whilst maintaining a friendly and welcoming disposition.

Skills and experience
Dealing with a busy phone switchboard and arranging call backs.
Scheduling appointments and entering lab results/clinical histories into the client’s files
Taking payments, setting up our health care plans and submitting insurance claims
Ensure the consult rooms are fully stocked
Cleaning the reception, consult rooms and waiting room areas
Dispensing medication under veterinary direction

Previous work experience within a veterinary practice is desirable (voluntary or paid) along with a willingness to learn. Experience as a receptionist or in administration would be desirable.
