In this varied and rewarding role, as a Veterinary Care Assistant you will provide essential support to the day-to-day running of the practice, learning the core principals of veterinary nursing, developing your knowledge and skills to enable you to progress and apply for formal veterinary nurse training in the future, which is funded by us!

The Role
In this role you will receive full support and guidance with our in-house 'on the job' training program led by a qualified buddy.
You will be working in all areas of the practice learning the core principles of veterinary nursing.
The successful candidate will have plenty of hands on experience with patients including walking dogs and TLC with cats; you will be responsible for maintaining kennels and the general environment to a high clinical standard following cleaning protocols, feeding animals, animal handling and behaviour, reporting back to and assisting nurses with patient care and preparing medical equipment as well as helping clients with all of their queries and concerns and reassuring them over their care of their fur-family.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a busy team and possess the confidence to work alone when required; you will have a flexible and adaptable approach to work, happy to get stuck in where ever needed. Key Accountabilities
Essential requirements
• Minimum qualification requirement of five GCSE subjects at grade A-C (4-9) to include Maths, English Language and Science* (certificates required upon application)
• Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
• Friendly and personable attitude, with an empathetic approach • Passionate about the care and welfare of animals
• Full UK driving licence
