The role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly supportive team at Medivet Lower Earley. Working along side our branch partner who is holds a GPCertExAP, the well-established practice has an additional Exotic animal caseload. You will also have access to Medivet’s multi-disciplinary certificate holders in the region, progression to, or support of an existing certificate qualification would be actively encouraged.
The clinic is part of a local network of 8 practices in the Reading region that feed into our Wokingham Hospital. Specialities in the surrounding branches include orthopaedics, key hole surgery, ultrasound, dermatology and cardiology. You will have access to all these services, will be able to learn from the veterinary surgeons with these skills and will be encouraged to offer high quality care.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience. You must have a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills, work to a very high standard both medically and surgically and have the drive and ambition to help develop the practice further. More complex procedures can be supported.
This role is working full time 4 days per week with 1:3 Saturday’s at Lower Earley, part time/flexible working is also an option please talk to us with what you are looking for.

We also offer relocation allowances should you move more than 50 miles from your current home address, up to 5k if you are relocating from outside of the UK.
We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

Branch
The practice is situated in a leafy suburb on the outskirts of Reading. It has a loyal client base and passionate dedicated team of vets and nurses.
Parking available, the practice has good transport links with Elizabeth line very close by with easy access to London. Heathrow airport is 30 mins by car and also a train available from Reading to Gatwick airport. Transport links with M3 and M4 close by.
Robert the Branch partner holds a GPCertExAP (general practitioner certificate Exotic Animal Practice) and is studying towards a CertAVP (advance practitioner status with the RCVS).
