The role

Medivet Barnes White Hart Lane is a true part of the local community, with a thriving client base that has grown through word of mouth.

We are currently seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years’ experience (UK or equivalent) and be a confident all rounder.

You should possess excellent communication and a passion for patient and client care.

This role provides a great work life balance, as this permanent role, and can be flexible to suit the candidate. The shift pattern includes 1:6 weekends at our Richmond 24hrs Hospital.

Salary & Benefits:

Competitive package of up to £77,200 per annum (depending on experience)

£1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days CPD leave, and in-house CPD training VDS, RCVS, BVA fees paid

5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays

Key accountabilities

You will provide high standards of clinical care to your clients and patients and direction and leadership to colleagues in practice, to ensure delivery against agreed performance measures.

You will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of your practice and overall team performance and engagement.

You will need to ensure the delivery of exceptional clinical quality and care standards in your practice always encouraging a progressive clinical culture.

You will follow Medivet policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented in your practice and adhered to by all your team (e.g. Medivet preferred drug policy)

Review Clinical Dashboards regularly and create plans and actions from these to include supporting your team to achieve.

You will work with your regional management team, Head Nurse and practice colleagues to deliver exceptional care whilst driving your practice forward.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience.

You must have a client-oriented approach and excellent communication skills, work to a very high standard both medically and surgically and have the drive and ambition to help develop this practice further.

You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

This practice in the heart of SW London, has a high street village presence with an excellent client base and varied caseload.
