The Role
We are looking for a Full-time Vet who is looking to take the next step, and become a Lead Vet or Branch Partner in a 2 FTE practice where work-life balance is one of our core principles.
4-day week.
1 in 3 Saturdays which finish at 12:00.
We finish work at 18:00 every day.
At least a 1-hour lunch break every day.
Initial income £35,000 to £90,000 dependent on experience.
Partnership income £160,000-£180,000.
Our consulting rooms and theatre have large windows with good natural light
We have two qualified veterinary nurses, two trainee nurses, and a dedicated receptionist. We work together as a happy team providing the highest level of pet care to our patients
Poole is a great place to live. Superb beaches 5 minutes from the practice. Purbeck and the Jurassic Coast are 15 minutes away, while the New Forest is 30 minutes from the practice.
We have excellent local schools within walking distance.
History: Formally known as Afrivet the practice was started by Graham Smith in 2008 with "compassionate pet care" as our motto and practical ethos. Despite being in an area with a large number of vet practices, our practice has grown steadily, all due to word of mouth. Our two-hearts logo signifies the love between the client and their pet, within a protective shield which is us, Afrivet. It is this love bond between a client and their pet that we seek to protect, and in turn we become a part of that relationship through our care and love.
In 2018, Graham sold a share of the practice to Medivet, so that he could concentrate on the clinical aspects of the job. This has been highly beneficial to the practice, as Medivet have provided investment and support, particularly through the challenges of the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite this slight change, we still practice as Afrivet and we highly value our autonomy and clinical freedom. Graham still retains a significant share in the practice until October 2023 when he is due to retire so we are looking for a successor who can continue to drive the practice forwards with the continued care passion.

Medivet Parkstone is located in the affluent Parkstone area of Poole, just a stones throw from the famous Sandbanks and Canford Cliffs area so, ideal for any water sports enthusiasts. the are also benefits from the nearby towns and beaches of Bournemouth and Boscombe which are all on the beautiful Jurassic coastline.
The dedicated Nurses and receptionist are lovely and have a very good team vibe that love to socialise out of work.
